Espagne, 1841. Il y a maintenant deux ans que la Première Guerre carliste a pris fin. Les villageois de la région le craignent et l’accusent même d’avoir scellé un pacte avec le démon que, chaque nuit, ils entendent hurler du fin fond de sa forge. Un jour, une jeune orpheline prénommée Usue pénètre chez lui, et menace de révéler le terrible secret du forgeron, en réveillant alors les forces maléfiques s’échappant des portes de l’Enfer.
